FINALLY! A Downton Abbey Series 5 Trailer!

Image
Just when I thought they were going to pull another The Hunger Games:Mockingjay and tease us with a million cast photos and mini-trailers for six years, ITV has finally released a full-length trailer for Downton Abbey. I'm SO excited that it starts on my birthday -- too bad that's the UK premiere date. :-( SO not cool of ITV to do that to me. Why do we have to wait until January? WHY? Oh well... I'm most excited to see how the Lady Mary/Gillingham/Blake love triangle works out, although it's looking preeeeetty good for Gillingham in the trailer. See for yourself below!

20 Things You Might Not Know About Me

Image
I don't usually post these list things, not because I don't love them, but just because I don't usually have the time to sit down and devote to them. Believe it or not I find that these things take more time to type out than book reviews! I'm not one for talking about myself. Thanks to Christy J. from Southern Sassy Things for tagging me though. She definitely knew I needed to write out a blog post! It's been over a week! Be sure to visit my fellow blogger who was also tagged by Christy, Rissi from Dreaming Under the Same Moon. Not only can that girl write, just check out her blog layout. Gorge!!;-)

On to the fun stuff, aka my juiciest secrets...

How tall are you?
Average height.

Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?
I like to sketch with just a pencil and some paper. Still lifes are fun, but I've been known to draw pics of my dog Coco when I'm really bored!

What’s your biggest blog-related pet peeve?
I hate blinkies. Too many on a blog are just a major…

Hallelujah! Peaches Are In Season!

Image
Remember when I was bored late last month and made these White Almond Sour Cream Cupcakes topped with cream cheese frosting and a peach garnish? Well, I couldn't help myself from snatching up (don't worry, I paid for them!) a few more gorgeous, fuzzy peaches from the local roadside farm stand and turn them into another sweet treat... cookies!!!

Let me tell you, when peaches are in season I take full advantage. I won't buy peaches from the grocery store, because after you've had fresh picked fruit, store bought tastes like cardboard.

In Perfect Time by Sarah Sundin ~ A Review

Image
The Story:
Two hearts are about to learn the rhythm of love

Bold, sophisticated, and coy, Army Air Force flight nurse Lt. Kay Jobson collects hearts wherever she flies, leaving men pining in airfields all across Europe. So how can ruggedly handsome C-47 pilot Lt. Roger Cooper be all but immune to her considerable charms? In fact, he seems to do everything he can to avoid her.

Still, as they cross the skies between Italy and southern France, evacuating the wounded and delivering paratroopers and supplies, every beat of their hearts draws them closer. Can they overcome the fears and misunderstandings of the past in order to take hold of the future?

Sarah Sundin seamlessly weaves together emotion, action, and sweet romance into a tale that transcends time and calls us to believe in the power of love.

My Thoughts:
While Sarah Sundin's Wings of Glory still holds the place as my favorite WWII-set series, she once again knocked it out of the park with her Wings of the Nightingale series. …

Get A Doctor Who Fix Before August 23rd ~ Doctor Who, Tales of Trenzalore

Image
~ My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars ~

If you're like me it has been difficult to wait for the season 8 Doctor Who premiere (here in almost a week!!!!). Thankfully, the folks at BBC Books have taken pity on us and released some great new books this summer to ease the pain. Tales of Trenzalore is the perfect way to pass the time if you have run out of ideas of Who related things or don't have your own TARDIS to pop ahead to the August 23rd premiere.

From the author of The Deus Machine and The Third Pandemic comes a fast-paced thriller about the power of harnessing life itself—and the deadly secrets it conceals.

Lane soon discovers that Johnny is part of an experiment veiled in extraordinary secrecy. But he has no idea who’s behind it, how astronomical the stakes are, or how many lives might be destroyed to make it a reality.

Paranormal Fiction Review: White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Image
The Story:
One kiss could be the last

Seventeen-year-old Layla just wants to be normal. But with a kiss that kills anything with a soul, she's anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses.

Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she's crushed on since forever.

Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she's not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn't an issue, considering Roth has no soul.

But when Layla discovers she's the reason for the violent demon uprising, trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne…it could brand her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it …
